That should help you understand better what you are seeing and how to deal with it, and oh.that it's not caused by modding the game.
#MASS EFFECT 1 MEUITM TEXTURE MOD MOD#
Link to issue and fix/workaround on youtube: /video/pEvl9RAn2CY/бейне.html Here is the MassEffectwiki link showing it's a problme with the game (again not the mod or texture related) with it's recommended fixes: /wiki/Mass_Effect#People_and_objects_become_black. Due to this you will also see black textures for characters on Noveria and Ilos. AMD has ditched these instructions in their latest processors causing miss timings and faults in communication between Mass effect and the CPU. This is caused by playing the game on any post 2008 AMD processors (bulldozer or later chipsets) this is because Mass Effect is seeing AMD and looking for 3Dnow instruction sets that existed when it was made.

This is from the readme of my mod under Mass effect troubleshooting: 2- Black Blocky characters on Noveria and Ilos. Which is every AMD chip today basically since 2008. I've been modding the game and seeing reports of this for years it happens when Mass Effect (modded or not) is used in comboniation with AMD cpus newer than "bulldozer" models. It has nothing to do with textures lol you changing them was pure coincidence and pure ignoring my initial advice (since deleted?). maybe for now I'll give your DA:O mods a go, gearing up to do a playthrough on that as well 8) So I download and run the recalibrated uninstaller, now MEUITM says version different from previous scan.

Then I go to install MEUITM and it says incompatible with recalibrated. Even recalibrated (which installed cleanly and easily) says to install it before MEUITM. Mostly frustrated because I spent many hours trying to get ALOT to work, gave up, then again spent several hours trying to get this to work. It has install.exe instead it looks like I do appreciate all the work, wish I could try it out.

But the contents of mine ('MEUITM Anniversary Edition Direct Download-1-2-1574046168') doesn't have a 'MassEffectModder.exe'. (edit: guess dot zip is a domain now) From the extracted folder, run MassEffectModder.exe and click "install". Is the moddb different from the nexus one? The nexus instructions are: Extract the MEUITMAnniversay dot zip. Guess that's what the problem is, wish it would throw an error in a prescan saying incompatible version, rather than halfway through the install rendering my install broken. This should only remove the really pixelated shadows, but keep other shadows intact. I have the trilogy on origin but I can't stand origin. Open your BIOEngine.ini in My DocumentsBiowareMass EffectConfig and find DepthBias0.012000 (its the second one, the first one only says 0.012, without the extra zeros).
